If you move or lose your breath during treatment, AlignRT automatically pauses the radiation beam and alerts your therapist to ensure perfect realignment. By projecting a special light onto the skin, AlignRT creates thousands of “virtual tattoos,” allowing real-time 3D body tracking throughout your session—for a tattoo-free, mark-free experience.

SimRT® is a surface tracking platform for CT simulation that monitors a patient’s breathing and body motion in real-time using a ceiling-mounted 3D camera. It offers a fully non-invasive experience—no physical markers, belts, or blocks needed—ensuring a comfortable setup without skin deformation or unnecessary distractions.

SimRT enables faster, more accurate evaluations by minimizing patient disruption during scanning. With real-time coaching displays and remote tracking point selection, SimRT helps patients maintain natural breathing patterns while giving clinicians immediate feedback to optimize imaging and treatment planning—all without added radiation exposure.

The Siemens Biograph 6 PET/CT scanner delivers advanced imaging technology to enhance cancer detection and treatment planning at BASS Cancer Center. With a large gantry opening, continuous patient port, and short tunnel, it provides a more comfortable, patient-centered scanning experience.

Combining high-resolution digital detectors with true time-of-flight (TOF) imaging, the Biograph 6 offers exceptional image clarity and improved contrast—critical for identifying small lesions and mapping precise anatomical details. Its hybrid design supports a wide range of patient needs while improving diagnostic accuracy, helping our team create the most effective treatment plans possible.

BASS Cancer Center offers advanced High Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy using the Elekta Flexitron system to treat gynecologic cancers, including endometrial, cervical, and vulvovaginal cancers. HDR brachytherapy delivers targeted radiation directly to tumors, minimizing exposure to surrounding healthy tissue and improving patient outcomes.

The Elekta Flexitron Remote Afterloader streamlines HDR brachytherapy by inserting a radioactive source precisely into the tumor for short, controlled treatment sessions. With high spatial precision, an intuitive interface, and support for complex treatment volumes, Flexitron enhances both the safety and effectiveness of modern gynecologic cancer care.
